Who's Who Chicago: Centerstage People
Katie Piepel
After growing up in small-town Iowa and graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in journalism, Katie fulfilled her stereotypical desire to "move to the big city." After a year in Chicago, however, she was feeling the itch to travel and thus set off on a backpacking journey around Europe. Reviving her waning desire to be creative, Katie landed back in Chicago for the second time and is currently rediscovering the city all over again.

As an intern at Centerstage, Katie hopes to get a handle on the infinite Chicago restaurant/bar/festival scene, wander into new dive bars and, most importantly, get herself out of the house on weeknights. In her spare time, she enjoys catching a good show, trying new beers, baking any sweet she can dream up and trying to achieve her goal of visiting every bakery in the city.
