Who's Who Chicago: Centerstage People
Jen Hazen
Freelance writer Jen Hazen
In 2002 Jen Hazen became an editor for indie music mag Venus Zine while working on a Master's Degree in Library Science. Thus began her incognito double life as a librarian by day and a freelance writer by night. Aside from writing for Venus, Jen's work has also appeared in Time Out Chicago, BUST, Maximum RocknRoll, Rockpile and US Business Review, among others.

Jen lives to scour the city's indie scene, always searching for undiscovered artists, chic boutiques, eateries of all sorts and bars that serve a good, stiff drink. When Jen finds a precious hour or two of spare time, she loves walks with her mini doxie, shopping for high heels, taking long rides on her cruiser bike, eating popsicles, picking out Pantone color combos for her graphic designer boyfriend and sipping a glass of Cabernet.
