Court Theatre

One of the city's largest nonprofit theaters, this professional theatre in residence at the University of Chicago is consistently one of the city's theatrical highlights, presenting a repertory of cultural and theatrical breadth and diversity, mixing Western classics with the significant works of other cultures. Past productions have included the American premiere of Mustapha Matura's Playboy of the West Indies, Pygmalion, Serious Money, and The Mystery Cycle: The Creation.

Founded in 1954 as an outdoor summer theater, the Court Theatre moved to its current Hyde Park location in 1981.
