| Equity Shakespeare company founded in 1986 recently moved into their glorious new space located on Navy Pier. The company and artistic director Barbara Gaines have received over 40 Joseph Jefferson Awards, including "Best Production" and "Best Director." Their production of Sondheim's "Pacific Overtures," directed by Gary Griffin, was later remounted at the Donmar Warehouse in London, where it won an Olivier Award. Their production of "Rose Rage," directed by Edward Hall, was also remounted Off-Broadway to critical acclaim in September 2004.
