| Southwest side organization promoting the development of theatrical talent founded in 1963. Its roots go back about 70 seasons, to 1929, when the group was started as a program of the Chicago Park District, performing at Marquette, Graver, and Ridge Parks. A group of its regulars decided to branch out in '63, lauching the BTG with a production of The Desk Set at St. Xavier College, to be followed by productions at schools and restaurants, until it joined in supporting the creation of The Beverly Art Center in 1969. The Guild returned to the Morgan Park Academy Arts Center (the original Beverly Art Center) for the 2008-2009 season.
