The world's most respected African-American dance company kicks off a short five-day run at Auditorium Theatre tonight. Performances will include "Uptown," a new ballet set in the Harlem Renaissance era to the music of Fats Waller and Nat "King" Cole; "Dancing Spirit," a tribute to artistic director Judith Jamison set to the music of Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis and War; the "Best of 20 Years" retrospective; "Love Stories," a collaboration with hip-hop pioneer Rennie Harris and modern-dance maverick Robert Battle; "Among Us (Private Spaces: Public Places)," a collection of vignettes examining human relationships; and the classic "Revelations."
