Perhaps the worst theatrical evening get-together since "Macbeth," "Abigail's Party" is a study in emotional brutality over drinks. The play was developed, using a sort of deadly-serious improv, by a group of British actors in order to skewer the middle-class hypocrisies of 1970s England. Still, according to critics, Red Orchid's cast of 2010 Chicagoans make "Abigail's Party" their own, and make it relevant.
