The DuBose Heyward novel-turned-play tells the story of cripple Porgy and the residents of the African-American community in Charleston's fictitious Catfish Row, circa early 1920s. Blues-and-jazz-inspired songs include hits like "Summertime" and "I Got Plenty of Nuttin.'"
