If you want to feel good about theatre and humanity, you don't need "A Christmas Carol." You need a Barrel of Monkeys. This doing-good-by-having-fun nonprofit encourages kids to write by taking whatever they write and staging it, at first in the schools and then for delighted Monday night audiences. The result is always wild, hilarious, and utterly real. Right now, BoM is letting other Chicago companies in on the heartwarming action, letting guest artists from Steppenwolf, the Neo-Futurists, the Factory and more take a crack at adapting new work by this city's most exciting artists under ten.
