The high-backed booths that make up the right side of this restaurant and hookah lounge are equipped with heavily padded and brightly colored seating cushions. A single light dangles over each booth, highlighting the artful tables inlaid with large decorative plates, designed and handmade by the owner. Stretching back to create a deceptively large dining area, the earth-toned walls complete the inviting effect. You'll be hard-pressed not to sit back and stay awhile.
Though the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. every night, the desserts, juices, teas and coffees are still available until closing time, as are the hookahs. For only $10 (and an ID proving that you are 18 or older), a server will bring a hookah pipe to your table or armchair, loaded with your choice of flavored tobacco.
The dinner menu is fairly straightforward, offering a variety of kabobs, shawarma and falafel, among other Mediterranean staples. The appetizer menu is hard to resist, which is why there is an appetizer sampler plate that provides diners with hummus, falafel, baba ghanouj, dolmeh and kebbeh on one mixed plate. Tut is a BYOB restaurant and servers are glad to open and store customers' wine bottles.
Average cost: $10-$20
