The name of this Ukrainian Village Chinese take-out joint is sure to make passersby do double takes. Is it a joke? Are the owners making fun of themselves or of you? We're not sure, but it's obvious the place doesn't need a cutesy name to draw business. It already offers the 'hood what it needs: a fast, cheap take-out/delivery place. Takie Outit offers lunch specials for about $5 and entrees for $8. Though it may not be the most authentic Chinese food—which could probably be assumed, judging by the name and the plates of food on display in the window (in case you forgot what egg rolls looked like)—it serves its purpose in a neighborhood with a plethora of more expensive Asian options.
The only disappointment here is that Takie Outit is only open until 10:30 p.m. on weekends. So if you want the tasty chicken fried rice and house specialty of mo po tofu, you're either going to have to plan ahead or end your night early. The restaurant does promise delivery in a half hour or less...assuming you can order without the visual aids.
Average cost: <$10
