A night out in Wicker Park can be a pricey thing. Depending on where you go, there are cocktails and cover charges. And then the hidden costs of partying there, which you don't pay until the next morning.
Luckily, Sushi Para M can prevent at least some of those costs, as the popular BYOB sushi joint now has an outpost just north of the Milwaukee-Damen-North intersection. Up the other direction, just to the north is Red & White, a fantastic beer-and-wine shop that offers an excellent selection of small-run beers.
Sushi Para M has several well-loved rolls, with only the special rolls coming in over $10. The Under Control roll is popular, featuring spicy tuna inside and topped with shrimp tempura and tiny little neon orange tobiko. The World Series roll is also outstanding, with soft shell crab tempura, eel, tuna, and avocado outside, and despite the fact that the restaurant is on the North Side, can be had more than once per century.
Average cost: $21-$30
