The Reel Club is the most recent addition to the
Lettuce Entertain You corner of the Oakbrook Center mall (it is located in the space formerly occupied by Papagus). With
Wildfire above and
Maggiano's and
Mon Ami Gabi next door, the restaurant company has a stronghold on the east side of this suburban shopping center. And like its neighboring sister restaurants, The Reel Club does not disappoint when it comes to food.
Once inside, visitors are met with a clean, contemporary decor. It is a classy establishment, but casual diners should feel at home as well. With an extensive top shelf and a few TVs for sports, the Barracuda Lounge offers a nice ambience for the after-work crowd. The bar has a fair share of signature cocktails and wines by the glass, bottle and flight.
As the name suggests, The Reel Club is a seafood-first restaurant. You'll find dinner options like Alaskan king crab, Maine lobster and itsthe signature seafood Milanese dishes. But the menu also has dry-aged steaks, chicken, veal and sides like truffled mac and cheese. Expect to spend about $20-$40 a plate–unless you order up the Surreel hamburger, grilled ahi tuna burger or the crispy cod sandwich, which are all about $10.
Lunch here is a good idea. You'll beat the rush and the menu is decidedly less expensive ($8-$13) with mouth watering choices like the filet medallion trio of sandwiches and the open-face swordfish steak sandwich.
Average cost: $21-$30
