While there are numerous Thai restaurants in
Lincoln Square, the great thing about them is that they each have their own personality. Newcomer Me Dee Cafe is no exception. This adorable cartoon-themed space is chock full of delicious savory options, as well as sweet and decadent desserts.
Food offerings range from traditional Thai dishes like fried rice and red and green curries, to popular dishes like the macaroni (Asian-style stir-fried macaroni with tomato sauce, egg, pea, tomatoes, white and green onion) and the Me Dee signature, a salmon panang dish. Appetizers include the delightful lemon scallop and the wing wing (chicken wings served with wasabi mayo). None of the dishes are more than $9.
Perhaps Me Dee Cafe's cow mascot (he really is cute) is there to remind you that the restaurant serves a variety of ice creams. They're flown in from Hawaii and have unique flavors like Thai tea and ginger. Every dessert in their well-stocked case looks absolutely refreshing and tasty, but if you're not in the mood for cold dessert, order up a Thai cupcake or a roti with Nutella.
You can eat in, carry out or have your food delivered. If you choose to eat in, take a seat at one of the two sharply painted red-and-grey picnic tables that serve as seating. If you're getting it to go, grab a snack for the road from the restaurant's mini snack store stocked with treats from Japan and Thailand.
