When I think of Chicago food, the Italian beef quickly comes to mind. And once it comes to mind, I usually have to eat one to get it out of my mind. Luke's Italian Beef provides a fine way to get me thinking clearly again. You can't go wrong with the beef piled high with hot and sweet peppers.
The inside gives you a relaxed, picnic feel with red and white checked tablecloths. The service is young and fast with a little attitude. I enjoyed that aspect of the restaurant, but maybe it's because that reminds me of my first wife. As it stands, you can't go wrong with an Italian beef, and you certainly can't go wrong at Luke's.
