I'm a big fan of above-average bread baskets, but pay little attention to the chips dished out at Mexican eateries. A chip's a chip, right? Almost. After one bite of La Finca's crispy, multi-layered tortilla chips, I was hooked, and flagging down the waitress for basket two.
Located on a sleepy stretch of Elston Avenue, La Finca is a spicy wonder. The interior is fairly simple, though the outdoor patio adds a little excitement come summertime. To be honest, I trained my eyes on the menu, not the decor. And it's a biggie, with plenty of lunch specials, tacos, a la carte options and full-on dinners, which range from all types of fajitas to rib tips to chile rellenos.
But be sure to flip your menu over. That's where the surprisingly large drink list awaits. You'll find tequilas, beers (just $2.50 on Wednesdays!) and the tempting margaritas. Order, drink, order again.
