When La Bamba say that it rolls "burritos the size of your head," one fact is certain: It ain't kidding. However, let it be known that it has other sizes of delicious burritos, and that the regular-size burrito is no small item to be wolfed down. With many options for fillings for your burrito, torta or taco, and a solid amount of vegetarian alternatives, La Bamba proves itself a valuable destination for Mexican food.
La Bamba's two Chicago locations include another spot Madison, though the Lincoln Park location tends to be the packed-to-the-gills destination after a night of heavy drinking. And get this: The food's great. La Bamba boasts the fact that it serves "genuine" Mexican food, and tries to back up that claim by having three colors (red, white and green, of course) in the impeccably clean restaurant (along with a heavy showing of "go Chicago!" Bulls memorabilia). Food is made-to-order, and there are no freezers, which means that the ingredients in your food are as fresh as fresh can be.
Quesadillas, burritos and tacos come off the grill at ridiculously affordable prices (you'll be fine with a fiver) and ridiculously larger portions. Not only that, its location across the street from the Kingston Mines gives La Bamba the final ingredient for the perfect post-gig meal.
