West Loop diners ask for more from their Italian restaurants than basic spaghetti and meatballs, and Jay Emerich delivers. The restaurateur has remade this former piano bar into a sleek eatery with a full bar and a new menu. From classic appetizers like meatballs with romaine salad ($12) to fusilli pollo ($22) with diced chicken tenders, hot and sweet peppers in fresh marzano and tomato basil sauce to veal cutlets prepared West Loop style with sauteed spinach, mushrooms and ricotta cheese ($26), he covers all the culinary bases. The cozy interior matches the menu with dark paneling, white tablecloths and candlelight; you'll be so comfortable, you won’t miss the tinkling of piano keys.
