Moving in on the former Colombian take-out spot, Los Niches, No. 3 in the local Don Taco chain deals in standard Chicago taqueria fare, very much akin to the Taco Burrito King fleet; burritos even see the same "Jr." and "King" sizes. Though its prices are a hand of change slimmer, with the "King" option capped at $5, and the "Jr." never pushing $3.55.
The same standard feel applies to the décor – expect florescent bulb-lit picture blow-ups of chorizo & egg and skirt steak dinners looming over a good 10 four-tops. And if you make the choice to sit down, a waitress will readily bring out your food.
Torta choices are few, but taco and tostada varieties make up for it – beef tongue, avocado, grilled fish w/ pico de gallo – all less than $2 with tax. Otherwise, its dinner menu takes the spotlight, offering guacamole, beans and rice incentives on all the fajita, enchilada and pico plates for $7, on average.
