If a "napkin burger" sounds a little too dainty for your big, mean, burger-devouring appetite, then take a tip from Bill Shakespeare, who asked, "What's in a name?" In reality, the deceptively named napkin burger is a big honking half-pound beef patty sandwiched with grilled onions inside a six-inch garlic roll and served alongside French fries and coleslaw.
The napkin burger is only one of many pleasant surprises in store at Uptown's CW Napkin. The cozy little grill offers one of the most crowd-pleasing menus in the city. For the salad-eater, there are 13 gourmet varieties, including steak, taco, southwest chicken and, yes, reuben (greens topped with turkey, Swiss cheese, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, green peppers and thousand island dressing on the side.) For the Italian-lovers, there are mouth-watering thin-crust pizzas (with free toppings!) and pasta dishes such as baked mostaccioli with homemade meatballs. For the vegetarian, there's a veggie burger and meatless lasagna. For the freegan, there are complimentary chocolate chip cookies when you answer a trivia question correctly.
And that's not even the half of it. CW Napkin also offers a slew of rib and chicken dinners, wraps and random miscellany like a cheese quesadilla. Of course, the most crowd-pleasing feature of all is the low prices (most items cost less than $10) and quick delivery.
