Bala Ghimire, owner of Curry Hut Restaurant in Highwood, serves up cuisine from different regions of Nepal and India. Curry House's extensive menu focuses on simple, natural, low-fat fare like chicken curry and tandoor mixed vegetables, with fresh broccoli, bell peppers, onions, cauliflower, tomatoes, potatoes and paneer marinated in mixed spices and roasted in a clay oven.
Other dishes include goat meat cooked with herbs and spices and vegetable kofta, mixed vegetable cheese dumplings served in a cream sauce. Vegetarians will find plenty to nosh on – the menu features more than 15 meatless entrees.
Motorists will be pleased to find the Chicago Curry House offers discounted parking ($5 for three hours) at 919 S. State. There’s also a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
