Posters of the Eiffel Tower and scenes from France cover the orange-yellow walls at Crepes Cafe, a cheery, low-key restaurant that serves up tasty crepes. Customers from the
Loop trickle in for lunch as a TV plays movies in the background.
It's easy to get your lunch on here: Menu options include savory and sweet crepes, which you can get with ice cream. Warm, tender crepes with strawberry and banana slices accompanied by Nutella hazelnut-chocolate spread oozing throughout look decadent with strawberry slices, powdered sugar and whipping cream. The blissfully sweet, creamy mess also hits the spot.
Other menu items include chicken teriyaki, beef stroganoff, hot dogs and scrambled eggs. Service is speedy, with a cordial server doing double-duty as cook and waitress. Does she play the piano that's at the front of the restaurant, too? No, she says with a laugh.
