Corner Bakery combines the speedy service of a fast food chain with the appeal of an individually owned cafe. CB got its start baking specialty breads for its sister restaurant, Maggiano's Little Italy, before becoming a proper bakery cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cafe bakes all its breads on site, pulling piping hot loaves of rustic Italian ciabatta, raisin pecan and harvest loaf (to name a few) from its ovens.
The atmosphere is always relaxed. Customers order at the counter and grab a chair; many locations offer outdoor seating in warm weather months. The menu boasts classic paninis (try the chicken pomodori, made with sliced chicken, fresh basil and spinach, roasted tomatoes, provolone cheese and pesto mayonnaise) and a slew of specialty sandwiches. The salads, including chopped, harvest and Santa Fe ranch varieties, are super fresh, tossed right before your eyes. For the indecisive, there's the Corner Combo, where patrons can sample both a half a sandwich or panini and Caesar salad or cup of soup for $6.29.
Corner Bakery also offers a catering service, providing everything you "knead" to host the perfect party.
