If it looks familiar to you, it probably is – Cipollina is run by the same folks that brought us
Milk and Honey Cafe and it's housed in the former space of the quick-service Milk and Honey Bake Shop.
This tiny Italian grocer carries an imported apothecary of lavish goods. From mineral water to specialty meats, cheeses, bread and prepared sandwiches – their best asset is still their signature command of herbs like basil, lavender or rosemary in colorful flavor combinations.
Italian sodas with custom made syrups and flavors like tangerine-lavender-honey for $2.25 are worth the trip alone on a hot summer day. Not to mention sorbet that even your conscience would feel good about – like the grapefruit-rosemary ($2.75-$5.50). It's a little dash of spice into the day. Grab a table and an Italian espresso and watch the passersby.
