BomBon Cafe hooks you in with just a glance: The seating area is cozy, the colors are bright and welcoming, and the cakes in the window display are, in a word, mouthwatering. And fortunately for lovers of Mexican food and pastries, the rest of the fare is just as warm and tasty.
An offshoot of the popular BomBon Bakery in Pilsen, BomBon Cafe offers all the sweet goods of its sister shop...with a few tasty treats of its own. In the sweets category, you'll find a tempting selection of Mexican and American pastries, tarts and cookies. For those special occasions, consider picking up one of BomBon's custom-made cakes (6-inch cakes $24-$28; 9-inch cakes $44-$48). Need something a little more substantial than sugar? BomBon's got that, too. Fill up on its Mexican menu of soups, salads, quesadillas and tortas. The tortas, (traditional Mexican sandwiches) are particularly good and can be made basically any way you ask, from veggie to pork to steak.
After spending sometime in BomBon's warm and sunny environment (it literally is warm and sunny; almost every seat in there is placed next to a huge window), you may not be able to tear yourself away. So bring a piece of BomBon home with you by picking up a loaf of its made-fresh-daily artisan bread.
