Beans & Bagels takes the idea of the bohemian coffeehouse and dresses it up, just not too much. Paintings and photography decorate gold colored walls while lavender high-back chairs line the front window. Off to the side, you’ll find a few chairs and one or two smaller tables offering a bit more room to spread out. But outside is where all the action takes place.
The al fresco patio sits on a quiet tree-lined street and offers plenty of shade from the sun. Locals, writers, artists, professionals and everyone in between gather here to enjoy super-size coffees (regular or with a shot) and fresh bagels with topped with cream cheese, peanut butter or jelly. When lunch rolls around, opt for a variety of salads and flatbread sandwiches with names like the “Ferdinand,” the “Cubano” and the “Tree Hugger.” Expect to find friendly service, patrons who say genuine hellos and lots of bang for your buck.
