Fans of the megapopular American Girl dolls shouldn't miss the opp for a mother-daughter bonding moment over dolls and tea (and more). You’ll need your own doll in order to dine at the American Girl Cafe, but you can get one on loan if you don’t have one to bring along. Meals arrive on a whimsical black-and-white trolley, accompanied by a surprise keepsake to take home.
The prix-fixe menu features a modest but tasty selection of American Modern entrees to choose from; a meal runs $16-$18 per person, and includes a starter, entree and "sweet surprise." Select a sweet start, like fancy French toast (topped with caramelized apples), heart-shaped pancakes and broccoli and mushroom quiche, during brunch. Lunch options include the Cobb salad and the American Girl picnic lunch, complete with a miniature hamburger, hot dog, cantalope and macaroni and cheese. Dinner entrees range from tilapia paupiettes to baked chicken tenders and chicken potpie. The afternoon tea includes eponymous savories like Kirsten's cucumber sandwich and Felicity's ham pinwheel.
