The Green fulfills my father's perverse desire to golf in the city. Instead of a sky dotted with robins and the leafy branches of oak, on this 18-hole putting course, golfers will be treated to the sights of the Sears tower, Buckingham fountain and other distinctly Chicago landscapes.
Hidden in the botanical walk is The Green cafe, which offers cold drinks and classic golfing fare. Not to imply that The Green lacks tranquility; to my Chicago-born-and-breed father, the silence of the country is one of the most fear inducing settings possible. He'd much rather hear the the noise of the restless city while he putts.
