Description of Union Park

Created in 1853 and named in honor of the Federal Union, the park became the home to the Jens Jensen American Garden in 1888. Historically it has hosted great musicians such as gospel music pioneer Thomas Dorsey and jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis. It's also home to great musicians of today and tomorrow, hosting the popular Pitchfork Festival since 2006.
