Been wanting to try Chez Joel for a while, so it was perfect for my wife's birthday. The bistro is a taste of paris in chicago. My wife and I honeymooned in Paris and this took us back there instantly. The food was amazing, highly recommend the Lamb, and also the Steak Frites. The service was excellent, and our waitress was kind enough to make sure we get cab when left. In all, HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a true French experience.

Chez Joel IS one of the best, yet overlooked French restaurants in the entire city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Know one knows about it except locals and regulars! They MUST get some advertising if they want to survive because they have the BEST French onion soup, the BEST escargot, pate's, cheese and fruit apps, killer coq au vin (+ some other chicken dish w/ cognac(?!)sauce)Coquilles Ste. Jocque, Steak au poivre, pomme frites, (too bad I hate fish but I will bet it's also great!)desserts with the world's best, Atlantic Eyes Coffee and I can't go on about how much I LOVE this restaurant. A great place to impress a romantic date, friendly, concise service and a beautiful outdoor garden. Please Joel, don't let this masterpiece crumble! Advertise before you advertise to sell it!
