By the way, I forgot to mention that our beloved owner of this LAME establishment, is none other than a Miami University of Ohio grad. Congrats on your dismal attempt at success! What's next? What's next Dan, Breen Geer Day at DePaul? Damn your good!

LAME!!!!! Did you ask Ned before you opened this place? Or did you just plain steal the idea from him and run with it? Huh? You unoriginal wank! This place is a straight up rip off of a bagel shop in Oxford, OH. Home of Miami University of Ohio. Yeah, the place in Oxford is called, get this, Bagel and Deli. Spoonerisms...idiot. More like lame, unoriginal, theif! Pathetic.

Indeed: the neighborhood has been waiting for a place like this. I agree! You probably need to go a few times to really figure out what the menu of this place actually offers, since the menu is a bit difficult to understand for the unexpirienced spoonerism-reader. The two times, I was there, I got the impression that it is not a place to stop by and get a bagel for to go. Two customers ahead of you and orders from the cafe next door make you wait good 15-20 minutes. Part of it is that it takes for staff and customers to figure out all the options available for your bagel. $6 for every standard bagel caused in me the expectation that it better is a gourmet bagel. $6 dollar for a bagel with salmon, capers, onions and creme cheese is still a bit expensive, but I have to say: I seldomly ate such a good bagel! It is a gourmet bagel! (Saying this as bagel afficionado from Brooklyn, NY) Unfortunately I and none of my friends can“t afford to make this a regular bagel place - and we would like to do so badly! Maybe the management considers a few economic versions for the daily consumption...??? A thing I do not understand: this place offers soda and drinks, but no coffe to go. Customers can buy it in the cafe next door ...mmmh strange idea... With what should I take my bagel to the El if I am in a hurry???

I highly recommend Dagel and Beli for everyon who wants delicious bagel, has a few bucks more and the time to sit in the cool Charmers Cafe next door.

The neighborhood has been waiting for a place like this for years, and it was worth the wait! Friendly service and great ( if a bit gloppy) sandwiches--my favorite is the Special K, with pumpernickel bagel, smoked turkey, smoked cheddar, sauerkraut, pickles and mustard. The adjoining coffee shop is a nice place to eat your sandwich and pass the time. (And the coffee's good, too.)
