I've volunteered with the Old Town Art Fair (which is one of the few Chicago street festivals that is completely planned and staffed by volunteers) for about 8 years. I'm proud that, in addition to being a highly-rated fine arts fair, the Old Town Art Fair is a terrific fundraiser -- each year, the Old Town Art Fair gives its proceeds to many neighborhood schools, youth groups, and neighborhood preservation projects.
In addition to 260 juried artists, the Old Town Art Fair includes a sound stage presenting live music; a garden walk through more than 30 beautiful urban home gardens; a self-guided tour of the historic Old Town Triangle District; a children's corner offering arts & crafts; a food court hosted by popular local eateries; and souvenir stores for collectible posters, t-shirts and more.
One more thing..... There are two art fairs scheduled for the second weekend of June. The Old Town Art Fair is "NoNo" .... North of North Avenue. The main gate is located at Wisconsin (1900N) and Lincoln Ave.
