A really nice place in the Andersonville neighborhood to hang out with my friends. All of the the salads are great and easily shared with two people. Very attentive management. Reasonably priced menu with something for everybody. They also serve Intelligentia coffee, my favorite coffee.

food is pretty good, if a bit on the pricy side. however, the service is horrible. we've been there a few times and the service has been agonizingly slow or just simply disinterested in our table, each time. i recommend take out from here though.

Possibly the worst place I've ever eaten. The salmon on the salad was still frozen in the middle. all side dishes were cold. The batter on the fish and chips was uncooked. Seems like this place is in too much of a rush and simply trying to make a quick buck. It was over priced, the waitress was rude and was overheard bitching us out to other staff members because we complained! It may be OK for draft beers but skip the martinis and definatley the food- over priced and bad quality.

The food at Charlie's Ale House at Navy Pier was expensive and didn't taste very good. My husband ordered the pot pie which was a standard "Gordon Food Service Crust" with not a lot of chicken. I had the chips with refried beans, tomatoes, and guacamole. It was small and there wasn't much to it. I wouldn't eat there again. However, the service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

for lunch, charlie's is pretty cool around this time. they have some outdoor seating and they'll open up the windows. the bar is pretty decent, but there's people eating right behind you, so you can't exactly have a barfight or a dance. the food is a little pricey. 7 bucks for mac & cheese, i think? a little pricey, but it is pretty tasty mac & cheese. definitely a restaurant with a pub, but cooler than outback or some other chain joint.

I like Charlie's Greek Salad and the spinach one too- however, the prices for the salads are astronomical (9.99 and 10.99)for the amount of food you get, and you have to ask for bread if you want some.
