We had lunch here yesterday specifically to use the $19 off coupon in our Entertainment book. The atmosphere is great and we have to say we haven't enjoyed a restaurant meal this much in a long time. This in spite of the fact that we arrived early (11:30) for a post holiday Saturday lunch and were the only table there for the duration. We were happy to see the dinner menu was available. I ordered the duck and my husband had the planked salmon (both $19). Both were wonderful in taste and presentation. The quantity was perfect for what we were looking for (lunch). Be aware, no salad or soup comes with the entrees, so if you're looking for a large meal you will need to order separately.

The service (although heavily accented) was perfect too, not intrusive, nor excessively fast or slow.

I can see where Americans who are used to quantity vs. quality for their money may feel some dissatisfaction here. Still, I was surprised to read the negative reviews. We may have just had a lucky experience, but we will definitely be back to try our luck again!

We could not help contrasting this meal with one we ate this past week at Osteria Via Stato in Chicago, where we found the excessive quantity and slightly heavy hand on flavoring the food, as well as the somewhat overly intrusive service, detracted a bit from the experience.

Take a pass on this resturant. Their 'special' broasted chicken was mediocre. Service was poor. It's a shame as the design of the place is great, but you can't eat that.

Let’s begin this review by saying that I am typically quite tolerant of things that happen in restaurant settings (especially after working many years in the business), however nothing went right from the moment I arrived at BRG for Valentine's Day. It seems as if they decided to open an extra dining room with no server to cover a single one of the seven tables that ended up being seated (the hostess served). Two tables left after being ignored and a third spoke up loudly to express his frustration after being ignored for 40 minutes. For the other three of us, our meals were disappointing at best. Our salads (mine had no dressing) came out with the entrees (which were already lukewarm). We weren’t asked how we wanted our steak done, so it came out overdone with no steak knife. Needless to say, by the time we finished our salads, the entrees were cold. We all expressed our irritation to the hostess, but wisely avoided putting any blame on her, as it was not her fault that she was asked to do a job she was not prepared for. The manager ended up having to comp all three tables, which was very kind of him, though I would’ve preferred paying for a delicious meal and having a wonderful time. Looks like opening the extra room to increase profits cost more than they would’ve made, which comes down to the basic lesson of quality over quantity. Although it looks as though their food/service typically aren’t that bad, they have sadly lost my business and the business of anyone I know.

Awesome new restaurant in Arlington Heights. Beautiful space with a great fireplace and bar with livingroom-like seating. The food is terrific and priced well. Try the Broasted Chicken, it's authentic and delicious. Lots of variety on the menu, great side dishes and fabulous desserts. Great drinks too. Need I say more.
