I think this place had a terrible smell to it, and the people are extremely rude to their customers. I agree, the owner is the worst.

This is the only place I go for coffee. It's got the nicest, most laid-back atmosphere, and the people who run it, despite what others may say, are incredibly nice. The coffee is really good, and the prices are way better than other places in my opinion. If you're looking for a new place to get a good cup of coffee and kick back, this is the place. It's definitely worth the trip.

I have to say that Fixx is my favorite coffee bar in the city. Apart from the Fixx Mocha, which should not be passed up under any circumstance, mocha-lover or not.
But on a more serious note, what really seperates Fixx from other espresso bars is the combination of exceptional drinks with an ultra-comfortable atmosphere.
Fixx's coffee is every bit as good as Intelligentsia or starbucks(perhaps even a little better.) But it combines good coffee with a great atmposphere. Unlike the aforementioned shops, which are not the homey hangout spot that Fixx is. Overall, its just an exceptional coffee shop and a great place to hang out.

The Fixx is great! I'm guessing if you're basically a scab and just want to milk free WiFi for a buck coffee all day and sneak in food, yeah the staff probably hates you.
I've been in many times and find that not only is the selection great, but their use of cold brewing for some of the drinks is fantastic.
If you're looking to walk in the door, bark orders and have coffee flavored water slung at you, go to Starbucks. The Fixx is a great NEIGHBORHOOD establishment, so yes the staff will probably finish a 15 second segment of conversation with customers before they're able to greet you. If you can't wait 15 seconds, again, put on your white and greens and go suck at the Starbucks teat.
This place is AWFUL!!! says: On Monday 2/5/07 6:38 PM
These people take rude to a new level! Don't bother complaining, the owner is even worse. Just go to one of the many other coffee shops in the area . . .

If you're looking for a place where you can sit for a few hours and work, DON'T GO HERE. The middle-aged barista who was working when I was there seemed to enjoy being obnoxious. After receiving the rudest service ever seen (is there an award for that? because they should win that) in a cafe, I left, as did the other guy sitting at another table.

I love the free WIFI, hours are 6am to midnight. Did I mention they have free wifi?

What a great place! The drinks and atmosphere are wonderful. Best place in town to study or relax. And I was pleasantly suprised by the musician had last time I was in. A guy named Jeremy Evans playing original songs with an acoustic guitar. What a great place to support Chicago's singer song writer. He plays the last Tuesday of each month. Dont miss him!

The Fixx is a great place-- great atmosphere and great coffee. The staff is super-friendly and you'll feel like a regular in no time. Free Wi-Fi means you can kill all the time in the world while writing a paper. And fair-trade teas. What else could youwant?
