Absolutely fantastic presentations, wonderful quality and very moderate prices. This is definitely the best, not just in the northwest, but anywhere. We have had Sushi all over the world, including Japan. This is right there.

I tried this restaurant for the first time a couple months ago and was pleasantly surprised. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but definitely a laid back, city feel on the inside. The rolls were great, especially the King Kong.

The menu was extensive, far beyond the usual fare. My favorite was the Black Dragon, a combination roll of crab, eel and caviar that had a light teryaki sauce. The sashimi was the freshest possible. The service was prompt and considerate of both the adults and children in our party. The cooked dishes were inovative and delicious.

Sushi Ai is not a restaurant that I expected to find in Palatine, no less located in between Dominick's supermarket and a Baskin Robbins. The sushi is very fresh, the cooked food is very good, and the place just has a hip laid back atmosphere. The decor, innovative food, and atmosphere are what I expect to find in a trendy sushi place in downtown Chicago.
