I am Korean and know good Korean food from not so good. Hae Woon Dae is the gold standard of Korean food. If you want authentic flavor at very reasonable prices, I would highly recommend trying this place - especially the galbi, which is cooked over hot charcoals. ps - decor is dingy but comfortable.

We have tried many, many Korean restaurants in Chicago and this is the one to beat! The portions are huge, the banchan is the most flavorful and despite the decor, Hae Woon Dae is the real deal.
