Can't believe I haven't been here sooner; since I moved into the Ravenswood neighborhood in May. Ambiance is small, quaint, romantically decorated and lit. Italian food served is wonderfully diverse and interesting; and, all seemed excellent. What more could ask for -- how about BYOB for an Italian Restaurant?? Believe it or not, it is (and, even harder to believe, with NO corkage fee). But, you doubters say, don't they just raise their prices to make up for it. Nope -- prices seemed average for fine Italian dining. ($15-17 for pasta dishes; and, 18-22 for chicken/meat/seafood dishes). How wonderful.

I have to tell you that this is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in a long time. The food is wonderful and everything is made from scratch. This is a must try for food lovers.

Caro Mio is a fabulous neighborhood restaurant. Everytime I go I have a favorite. I'm almost afraid to tell you how great it is, as I feel it is my secret, but I'll share, go have a great meal!

Caro Mio is a neighborhood find! Having Grown up in an Italian family, going out for Italian eats almost always meant a disappointment. Not so with Caro Mio!
Family owned and operated, the quiet, cozy atmosphere makes for a great spot to takea date, or to bring the entire family.
The menu is HUGE, as are the portions, so bring your appetite and mangia! The specials are delightful, and the standard items are done skillfully. Caro Mio also makes their own pasta and sausage, an old world classic!
The desserts are definitely worth saving room for, as the Tiramisu is easily the best in the city, and the Tartufo (gelatto filled with cream) is simply irresistible!
As stated above, dinner averages $15/person, but the combination of selection, size, and quality together add up to a visit well worth your money!

This quaint BYOB starts you off with delicious olive oil, toppings and bread. The food is lovingly prepared and fresh, the service is friendly. A neighborhood gem!
