Everything about the SSCAC is special, especially for me because my father was one of the artist that helped establish the center, his self portrait hangs in a very honored space, It is the one with the African-American man with the art brushes in his hand and an eseal next to him. His name was Henry A. Avery. and I am so proud that he was a part of Chicago's Art Historoyo.

I was present at the Pittsburgh Pirates game last night. After the game I had the pleasure of hearing a R&B-Blues group in The Club House Lounge of the Pirates.I believe they were from Athens Ohio and Their name was The R&B Station. They had a little lady by the name of Shorty Starr playing drums. This group rocked!! Rodney Black, Pittsburgh Pa.

If you haven't been it is a part of Black history so everyone should experience this place at least once just for that simple fact. But the politics going on behind the scenes are really pulling the historical place apart and I hope and pray that the Board of Directors turn it around soon to bring the place back to its original vision and mission to be a beacon in the Black Community for the Black Community of Artists that are still needing the assistance in showcasing thier talents and art. They also need to allow the Director to host more diverse enetertainment for the community and its residents. My rating on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being the best would be a 3 for extra activities and 8 1/2 for art exhibits and poetry open mic sessions.
