I like Sunflower Bistro. They are definitely one of the best restaurants in the suburbs, and definitely THE BEST IN LAGRANGE. I just don't care especially for the menu they have now. It's great, but they've had better is my point. I ate with my wife there last week, and her pork dish was kind of lackluster. And my chicken dish was too spicy and didn't have really interesting flavors. Still, there's always something new and exciting, and i'm sure the next seasonal menu will be great.

My husband and I love the Sunflower Bistro. Their menu changes every season so we love coming back to see what's new. One of my absolute favorites is their Lamb dishes. Our waiters have been good about telling us what wines to pair with certain food choices as well. We've also brought friends to the 'Tini lounge a few times, and they've all really enjoyed it.

Thumbs up on all levels, keep up the good work!

I think Sunflower Bistro is a great place to eat at, and i've been there on numerous occasions- sometimes with my wife, or to entertain friends from out of town. My last visit was less then stellar though. First of all, it was freezing in the dining room, Then, the wrong dish came out- the first time that's ever happened at Sunflower. Our waiter was a nervous wreck. He seemed so flustered by the mistake, that i thought he was going to fall over himself. Instead of making us feel assured that everything would be fine and that our food was on its way, his behavior heightened our uncertainty, and he was fidgeting so uncontrollably, i thought he was gonna have a nervous breakdown. We did get the right dish though, but our romantic evening was essentially killed from that point on. On top of that, the valet guy took ten minutes to get me car! LaGrange is NOT THAT BIG A TOWN!

Emilio's Sunflower Bistro is my absolute favorite restaurant (and I've been to infinite numbers of great restaurants). The service is spectacular. The waiters are courteous and personable, and that in itself makes you want to go back. The food is amazing. The bistro food created by Chris and Mary is at the height of culinary creations; from the oysters, steak madallions, and pasta, to the delicious salad, gelato, and chocolate goat cheese cake. It is so great! The atmosphere is also great: a front dining area with fun lights and comfortable seating, and a "tiki lounge" bar in the back. I highly recommend it, and it is the best restaurant in the west suburbs of Chicago.

Everytime I dine at the Sunflower Bistro, I'm delighted by the warmth and professionalism of the staff and owners. I always eagerly anticipate the changing menu with the seasons. During my last visit, i was treated to an outstanding take on ceviche, which was accompanied by bacon shavings and a wonderful sweet dipping marmelade, a confluence of flavors that was ambrosial. Keep up the outstanding work!

I was skeptical at first, because the entree descriptions seemed too fussy. However, I was very impressed with the quality of the dish I had--the Amish chicken half. The marinade imparted a beautiful, appetizing color, and a pleasant aroma. The breast was separated from the ribs, making it easy to eat, and the texture was great--neither over nor under cooked. It came with an little portion of arugula salad that was delicious, but I also ordered the very fine watermelon salad (watermelon chunks were only a small part of this otherwise Romaine-based crunchy salad with homemade ranch dressing. The entree also included a pineapple tamale. I really like meatless tamales, but again this seemed a little strange. I was very pleased with this generous sized tamale that was very fresh. I'm not usually a big desert fan, but we ordered a 3 item combo of tapioca pudding, frozen custard and cheesecake. Obviously all three were junior portions, although put together it was quite a big desert. The surprising thing was that each desert item was flavored with an herb--thyme, rosemary and basil (I think this is accurate.) I double checked with the server to see if customers really liked this since it sounded a little bizare. In a word the desert was great. These herb flavors were really subtle, fresh and surprisingly tasty.

Sunflower Bistro is a beautiful restaurant with talented chefs that treat every customer with personal service. The wait staff is always courteous and professional. They manage to take food to a higher level without the pretentious prices. After a dozen or more visits I will always call it a favorite and look forward to my next visit there!

Absolutely lovely food. Mary & Chris must be the most generous of any culinary artists known in the kitchen! They have a free flow of creative ideas resulting in tastes to satisfy every palet.
