In case anyone looks at the Jazz Festival listing for 3/12, and see that it says 21+, be advised that is incorrect. The Jazz Festival as well as ALL our shows are all-ages.

The Wheaton Grand used to be one of the cooler places to catch a show a few years ago. Recently, it has lost its suburban notoriety and has succumbed to the influences of its neighbors. The area surrounding WGT is filled with upscale dining establishments whose clientele are solely of the social elite. The local police now strictly enforce a "once your in, you can't go out" rule, severing the smoker from much needed nicotine during long bills and cell phone users to stand in lobby and scream "I can't hear you!" The Wheaton fuzz have armed, on duty, and very crabby officers even within the theatre for the sake of maintaining civility amongst the droves of “dangerous” high schoolers. The morale of the entire scene has rapidly dropped and participation, generally, has declined due to such ridiculous impositions on the WGT. Unfortunately, later this spring, the WGT will follow in likes of many suburban venues and close. So, I have but one thing to say to Wheaton as a community now: piss off, you bunch of crazy, over-the-top god fearing psychos. Make sure the next time your kids find an actually well supervised and decently maintained facility to go and be themselves, make sure you put asinine restrictions on the club, put armed police inside of it, and eventually run it out of business. Remember, Jesus loves oppressive parents and pious neighborhoods.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Wheaton Grand Theater website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
