i think that this restaurant was fabulous. The crepes were amazing. You should try the banana-caramel mousse. It's divine. When you go there the paintings on the wall are actually from france. The simone's cocktail was enjoyable and the singer who was down there that day was fantastic, yes she might of been loud but it was nice to just talk to old friends with background music playing. The butter, however, was absolutely exquisite. Sun dried tomatoes were the main ingredients, I believe. As i have said, you should not pass this opportunity up. Thank you didier and simone !!!

Not too sure about the schizophrenia between having Cyrano's Bistrot and Wine Bar and Cafe Simone in the same place. You have to walk thru one to get to the other. We had dinner last night at Cyrano's and I'd advise you to find another french restaurant for a delicious meal. The escargot was just not right, the onion soup was ordinary and the duck (their own 'special recipe) could use some crisping up. There are so many other wonderful French restaurants in the city, take a pass at this one. The kitchen has a magic window that opens up periodically to a dirty ceiling and smoky smells that soon fill the diningroom. They close and open it for no apparent reason throught one's meal. And then there's the violinist. He plays well but diner's need to scream past him to be heard and no one but the maitre'd and hostess 'clapped' after each number and no one tipped him. It was just intrusive and noisy. Good crispy bread and herb inflected butter but that's all the raves I can offer.
