Cafe Central is not a Cuban restaurant. It is a Puerto Rican restaurant. All of the photos and posters on the walls plus news clips identify Puerto Rico. It is the best Puerto Rican restaurant in Chicago. High quality ethnic food and lots of it for a low price. It is simple but clean. Try the Puerto Rican specialty "The Pastele". No one made it better than my mother, but they come in a close second. From a Boricua Taino who knows!

I used to go there in 1997 for a really beautiful waitress called Sandra Marie Theresa Pagan. She was 17 back then and in high school. Wonder where she went to...the food is excellent. Expecially the coffee!
