I've been at the Edgewater studio for about 6 sessions. I wouldn't recommend it for total beginners with little or no yoga or similar training. The focus seems to be on helping intermediate students progress. Yesterday, an instructor said the beginner's classes tend to be a flop because most students who come who say they are beginners lie and are not, so in the name of flexibility, even beginner's classes are dominated by intermediate consciousness. Some of the teachers are hard core Hindu converts who don't understand wstern beginners who are not fluent in Sanskrit terminology. I would recommend that beginners look elsewhere or find one-on-one lessons.

Beautiful studio, very relaxing. I tried Tomoko's class: invigorating, challenging, meditative. I felt really HIGH for the rest of the night: good yoga is better than drugs! I almost always have more fulfilling, intense experiences at little studios like YOGA NOW as opposed to the yoga classes at my health club.

I've been practicing Ashtanga at YogaNow for over a year and it's my favorite studio! It's small enough that you can easily get to know the instructors and other students but big enough that there are all kinds of different classes to try if you want to explore something new. There are also fun kirtans, movies and special events that make this more than just a place to do yoga but somewhere to learn all kinds of new things, hang out and meet a variety of people.

The studio is quite nice but the instructors are unique in their own special way. You will find that some yoga instructors are extremely stumilating and wonderful, and some will come off to be quite bitch like. Once you find a class that you like, it will be hard to not want to come back.

This is a fabulous yoga studio. Every teacher I've had has been good. Patricia, Tomoko, and Amy are stars.

Yoga Now is a beautiful studio with a wonderful community. Amy Beth is an excellent teacher. if you are practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, then this is where you go when in Chicago. namaste
