Do not visit Cafe 28! We should have known from our first visit there. While getting drinks only, a fellow patron complained of glass in his food. Management did not handle it too well but still we came back to try the food. This visit was even worse! I wasn't allowed to sit at a two person table until my fiancee came even though there were plenty of tables available. When seated, our waitress was nowhere to be seen and after obtaining our order for drinks, appetizers, and two entrees, came back to our table a total of two times! The worst part was to see our check at the end. We had asked for a little more hot sauce in addition to tortillas(we were given a total of four tortllas for two meals), and were charged for both! The food may be tasty, but the service and prices lack. Go somewhere else!!!!

I have been to Cafe 28 twice and the food has been outstanding and the service great. I love the almond crusted halibut! The food is resonably priced and the parking is plentiful. We had the pistachio cake for dessert and it is fabulous. I can't say enough about Cafe 28.

This place is amazing! I have gone for dinner (worth waiting for) and for brunch (YUMM!). The food is always excellent, and the atmosphere is great. They have live music during brunch on Sundays, and an amazing selection of food all the time. The perfect blend of Cuban and Mexican fusion, always perfectly prepared and delicious! Oh... and like the other reviews said, the Mojitos and Sangria are excellent as well! Great night out or morning place... plus now they do lunch!

There seems to be little to no well priced mexican-esque places in the city...finally I found one. Get the frozen mojitos, faaarr superior to their regular one. I promise..same price, you won't regret it. Great place for a date or friends' night out

The food o.k. service was not that great. Cuban sandwich is not a true cuban sandwich so should be called Cafe 28 sandwich on french bread. Overpriced for sure! Would not recommend to anyone.

This is a diamond in the rough. Even with Irving Park Road under construction tha place was packed on a Thursday night. Great atmosphere, great food!

My wife and I moved into Old Irving Park in Nov. of 04 and could not find a good restaurant. Café 28 was recommended to us and we have been there numerous of times. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, stunning art work for purchase from local artist. We highly recommend.

OH MY GOODNESS there is a 4-star restaurant in my neck of the woods.

Cafe 28 has mouthwateringly delicious food, incredible service, and amazing margaritas.

I recommend this place to all my friends and clients.
