My husband and I spent two nights at Hotel Allegro in July, 2005. My husband's doctor, from Chicago, highly recommended Hotel Allegra. The help was very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too minor to ask them. The beds are super comfy, and the pillows filled with down. Best sleep anywhere. The room is tastefully decorated in warm colors, and you don't hear the air condionter cycle on and off. It is near everything in Chicago. We walked many places. We definitely will stay there again. A four star place in our book!!

I stayed at the Hotel Allegro for Valentine's Day weekend 2004. Although it is an older building, they have done a great job converting it into a fun and funky boutique hotel. There are still older fixtures in the bathrooms from the 1940's but I considered it very quaint.

My fiance and I hung out at the hotel bar and enjoyed the food and martini's very much.

We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. It was very very slow even though we were only 1 of maybe 6 couples. Overall, it was worth the approximately $100/night rate I got on Orbitz and I would recommend it to anyone who has eclectic taste.

My husband and I spent this last Friday at the Allegro and loved it! I met him after work for a night out without the kids (5 of them). The hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. They did not make my husband the least bit uncomfortable for being dressed in his (blue collar) work clothes. The room was a bit small, but the down comforter more than made up for that! We had a room on a higher floor and we had no problems with noise. They also have free wine in the lobby from 5 to 6 pm and the shiraz that I sampled was quite tasty!

I am in the military so I can adjust to just about anything, but my wife and I were not @ all impressed with this hotel let me run down the list: real low water pressure, very small room for 150+ dollars, 8 steps will get you from the door to the window, speaking of window, the view was very bad all I remember is the top of old building in bad need of maintance, paper thin wall, you could hear every word next door and down the hall, bed confortable but small ie the room, TV small, we talking maybe 20 inch, closet space was a joke, I am 5'11 186, by no means a giant ( I could get one shoulder in and closing the closet door forget about it. the eleavator stayed full and ran slow, so slow that we took the stairs @ least 2 times during our one night stay. Do yourself a favor and pay your hard earned cash @ The Holiday Inn!
