If you don't want to make custom cakes call yourself a cafe! Terrible service and the guy told me they don't like to do custome orders just "order something we already have". What? They also hung up on me (twice)when I called to inquire about placing the order. Best of luck you have lost my business.

I'd heard this was a great place for custom special occasion cakes -- I've ordered similar cakes from other bakeries in the past. Unfortunately, I was not able to order one from Angel Food Bakery since they seemed uninterested in taking my order. Stephanie the owner actually muttered something insulting under her breath during our conversation, so I decided to work with another bakery. Any customer should be treated considerately, including those attempting to purchase expensive custom cakes. However, Stephanie and her staff made it known that they are more interested in serving customers who come there to eat, than people who want to order special cakes! Their cakes might be delicious -- I'll never know --but what i do know is that there are many other fabulous AND polite bakers out there who are happy to have my (and your) business! I gladly hired one of them instead.

I went here for breakfast & it is a great little place. The breakfast "commuter sandwich" & it is so cool! The brie/prosciutto/jelly combination is surprizingly great. My son really liked the carrot cate with the marzipan olive on top. It is fun to look up at all the ez bake ovens & other similar items from my child hood.

My daughter and I recently went to Angel Food and it was excellent. The cupcakes were the BEST ones I have ever had. Next trip I will buy a bunch! We will be back!

I live in California and don't think I can really make a trip out to your shop in the near future, but let me congratulate you on your business. I watched your story on the food channel. Like you, I'd like to turn my talents of cake decorating into a real business. Your story was very inspirational, and I totally connected with all aspects..especially the "sellers remorse!". I hope to have my own shop soon, but until then, will continue to work on my cake business and newest invention, the Cupcake Cuddler! It's adorable, I'd love to send you a sample!! I was lucky enough to catch this bakery featured on the food network. I'm from Wisconsin (4hr drive) and I couldn't wait to make the trip and try the Igloo...I was very impressed..from the look of the bakery to all of the great sweets I felt it was truly worth it. I'll be back on my next trip into Chicago.

The chocolate is outstanding and the baked treats are worth leg wrestling your mother for. All in all, this place is the most fun you can have with your mouth open and your pants on.

What a sweet,sweet place!!...Truly Charming!Excellent,warm and helpful staff,and great desserts!I had the carrot cake(BEST I'VE EVR HAD!!)my date had the "Airsteam"(like a twinkie,but lighter and moister)and we bot had hot chocolate.The hot chocolate was like sex in a cup!Truly a taste of heaven!!We'll definitely be back.

Ordered chocolate sheetcake with raspberry filling. Chocolate cake was very dry and tasteless. Not enough filling to even taste the raspberry. Buttercream frosting fine and thickly layered.
