Matt says: On Friday 1/13/06 4:30 PM This places is way too smokey. I went for Friday fish, which was good but I had to inhale heavy smoke with every bite of fish. The waitresses stand at the bar and smoke, only to put down their fags to bring you your food. Beware!

WELL MATT. I SAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SMOKE THEN DON'T BREATH !!!

Edgewater Lounge is the most chill place to eat and drink. Anyone can enjoy this atmosphere, but those special individuals with a love for good beer and a spot where you can enjoy it for hours at a time will be HOOKED. They have a small menu on which everything is delicious. It's all pros here, I can't find a single con about this place. People mention smoke but it'll be illegal very soon anyway and until it is you always have the option of moving to the other room or the awesome patio!

We had my friend's bon voyage party in the back room there a while back, and the staff could not have been more accomodating and cool with the snackage. Wisecracking, sharp-as-a-tack waitstaff, bar-y beery ambiance, inexpensive interesting food that I actually eat, and a back room with amber-toned lighting and big shiny paintings if you want to step away from the bar and cozy up with a li'l group. This place walks a fine line: good quality, but cheap and comfortable enough to actually enjoy it.

Last review sounds like someone who works there doing there own ad. I happen to miss the music they had there last cpl. years and the amps were never too loud. Get a life. The place is cool though with nice people in there and good service. If someone complains about smokers, don't go there. Fire up you gas guzzling suv and drive to yuppyville!

This bar is great! After a few months of living only four blocks away and never having been their I went to the Edgewater Lounge about a month ago and have been back many times since. They have a great selection of micro some of the greats that regularly grace their tap tower's are Rogue, Dogfishead, Bell's, Three Floyd's, Sierra, and the ever present Goose. The owner's and staff are great. A CD rack behind the bar is loaded with albums belonging to both the customers and the house making for a great music selection, and their small but efficent kitchen makes a variety of great sandwiches as well as my favorite homemade hummus. On Tuesday's their is free bluegrass as mentioned above. It's great because it's not overpowering. There's no amps or mics a couple people just gather in the corner and breakout insturments. All in all it's a great low key and relaxed bar with a stellar beer selection and good music.

Nice ungentrified lounge with a cool bar. They seem to be a home for bluegrass music, which is ok, but they used to have more varied, better music last year. Great beer selection, food was good' and staff friendly. Will be back soon, but I've had enough bluegrass for awhile.

great neighborhood chill bar w/ the most promising jukebox I've seen in the city. tasty food, were talkin gourmet-type shit. live music at times. nice selection of beers, w/ the Rogue Ale rounding things out. Would do them well to serve a nice pizza and even more belgium style beers.
