Not a real wine bar says: On Thursday 5/7/09 4:38 PM
This place is a poor excuse for a "wine bar" They only have about 10 wines by the glass, red and white (including "Bitch" Merlot) Obviously they don't really want to be taken seriously. There is absolutely no variety of wine, it's a place to stop and get a quick drink if you've found yourself in the wrong neighborhood. The owner's or whatever ladies run the place are very uninviting, I agree with this last review. They are also very unattractive! Very unprofessional...ever heard of a smile?? I guess nothing can change an ugly mug LoL. Also they seem like they only want you there if you are in their weird little lesbo click. So yeah, not the place to meet someone or even to feel comfortable. And I also experienced very poor ventilation, I wasn't there for more than 10 minutes before sweat began to poor down my face. They need to get some new faces and variety, and altogether just a new flavor in there. This place is in serious need of help!!! I wouldn't recommend anybody go there, gay or strait.

This place is awful. I agree with the majority of reviews here - the owners are nasty and uninviting. The wine leaves more than a lot to be desired. And more specifically, the one owner, Sandy, is a complete drunk who hits on other women in front of her "wife" and can barely keep her eyes open at the bar. Everyone here is either from down the street, or a friend of the owners. Keep away unless you want to leave feeling as negative and nasty as the owners act and look.

I really tried to like this place and even brought some friends along but The owners Sandy and Lori are unprofessional. Sandy on very occasion Ive been in is extremely intoxicated and becomes over friendly with women in the establishment. The drinks are watered down and pricey. So if your looking for an evening to have some fun look elsewhere...

Nice atmosphere, the TVs can be a bit distracting. The wine is excellent, bartenders friendly cheese plate horrendously expensive. Also if you are looking to meet the ladies, it's not exactly the friendliest venue, though I didn't try very hard.

The cheese and wine are great. Nice atmosphere except for the second-hand smoke. My only complaint was with the champagne cocktails. I ordered a Bellini and to my surprise the peach puree they use isn't fresh. It was frozen. I was given a straw to help dissolve it. I almost had a heart attack. A classy drink turned oh so cheap. Oh well.

Really great place! I have been going there now for about a year. I go back because of the ambiance. Its a laid back bar. Bring a date...bring a group of friends and sit near the window or just by yourself and have a wine flight. Wonderful charcuterie and cheeses!

The bar staff is friendly but beyond that this place is a waste of time. I have been there three times because of the staff and each time it seems that this bar was opened up for the owners to bitch with their friends about their miserable lives (it’s a small bar!) The owners NEVER look happy, well, except the time I saw them drunk. Typical angry lesbians.I agree with the last post too, the ventilation is horrendous.

A fun place in an odd corner of a side street. This place has great wine and is a friendly place to meet with friends. The outdoor area is fantastic in summer. What other wine bar can you watch a cubs game at? If you don't like to inhale secondhand smoke while tasting your favorite wine, go in summer when you can breathe outside-- they have no ventilation.
