Metropolis Coffee: Best. Coffee. Ever. Seriously. You don't want to miss it. I make a pilgrimage from the northern 'burbs to have Metropolis coffee. The baristas are amazing- real artisans, dedicated to their craft and manually creating espresso drinks with no automated machines. They pull ristretto shots which, as a barista myself, I can tell you is the very best flavor experience you can have; you can enjoy a doppio shot with no water chaser, no sugar, no cream. I highly recommend the coffee, though. Buy yourself some beans and you'll never, ever go back. You deserve some Metropolis Coffee! Treat yourself.

Good coffee, but beware the employees!! If you get on their bad side, they will gang up and make sure you have a bad time. Very typical barista-elite attitude problems. Avoid this place, you'll have a better time with the Starbucks's kiosk inside the Domonic's nearby. At least they won't treat you like crap, and you'll get a full shot when you order one.

Metropolis is the best coffee house in the city--hands down! GREAT coffee (roasted on premesis--sustainable philosopy), perfect atmosphere for working on my thesis, friendly staff and FREE wireless! what else could you possibly want?!

Have only visited once, but am a regular on-line customer. Usually I'll order several pounds at once to save on shipping. I have been most pleased with the speed of my orders. I normally get them the very next day, although I do have to let them rest for a few days before using them. Tony is great. Everytime I have a question, he is more than eager to answer it. Try them out. You won't be disappointed!

Not usually a coffee drinker but friends love the coffee here and the Teas are great too. I recomend the Morrocon Mint Tea. The free wifi access is great too I built a class project connecting small devices to a server in one sitting there (so you could say it helped me study for my Masters :) ). Thats the thing about Metropolis the atmosphere makes it a great place to just hang out!

The coffee at Metropolis is the greatest. My wife and I drive 25 miles into Chicago from Lombard to enjoy the coffee and buy red line coffee beans regularly.

I just recently moved here from Virginia by myself. I felt very much alone, as I didn't know anybody and this city can be pretty overwhelming for a newcomer. A woman I met in a bookstore recommended I got to Metropolis Coffee...and I am sure glad I did. Not only did I recieve a great cup of coffee, I met people who I am sure will become friends for life! Thank you Metropolis!

I absolutely adore Metropolis Coffee Co. It is such a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. The owners live nearby, and it is such a family/community/feel-good place. The coffee is roasted in-house and far superior to almost everything available in Chicago. I, too, have had problems with the WiFi network, but no more so than my own WiFi set-up at home. Plus, it's FREE! I can't think of any other place ($-bucks and even Filter included) that provides wireless internet free of charge. I love that I can go and sit for hours on one cup of coffee. I love that I can watch all kinds of people from the neighborhood and beyond come and go. And Tony and Jeff are working hard to bring in an eclectic mix. They have rotating art shows, and poetry slams, and live music, as well as movies every week. Metropolis is a superior community gathering place, where you can also have a superior cup of java.

This place is great. I love all the different types of tea that are available. The staff is fabulous as well. I love that I can go here to relax, and when I needed to, to study. I highly recommend checking out this great place.

Great coffee (I mean really GREAT coffee), interesting and ever-changing art, pleasant vibe, plus music, movies, and poetry. Definitely gets my vote for best coffeeshop in the neighborhood. Plus you can register to vote there.
